Old Fashioned

Official IBA recipe. Muddled, featuring bourbon whiskey, sugar cube and Angostura bitters, served in an old fashioned glass.

Ingredients

• Bourbon whiskey 45 ml
• Sugar cube As needed
• Angostura bitters As needed
• Water As needed

Method

1. Place the ingredients to be muddled into the glass.
2. Press gently with a muddler to release flavor; do not crush leaves to avoid bitterness.
3. Add the remaining ingredients and ice.
4. Stir until the glass frosts.
5. Finish according to garnish requirements.

Glassware: Old Fashioned Glass; Ice: Ice cubes; Garnish: Orange slice or orange zest, plus a maraschino cherry; About 30% ABV
